Historic Dallas Fund (for Preservation Dallas)
Chair, 1977-1980: Organized and managed a “revolving fund” in Munger Place, then 90% absentee-owned and with about 30% of its houses red-tagged for demolition by code enforcement. Oversaw all aspects of purchase and resale of 27 houses for restoration. This included creating restoration drawings (in partnership with the Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and developing a pilot inner-city loan program with the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA)

Intown Living Center, (for Preservation Dallas)
Chair, 1994-95: Initiated a new direction for that included raising over $575,000 and overseeing preparation of a center for historic neighborhoods.

Discover Dallas! Historical Survey (for Preservation Dallas)
Initial Chair, 2001- 2004; Committee Member 2001 to 2008; Survey Form Audit Committee, 2005-2008. Helped develop architectural survey for city, The Discover Dallas! Survey developed illustrated survey forms and trained hundreds of volunteers to research and document homes.. Within each neighborhood, all properties are photographed and recorded and certain properties are researched in depth. Discover Dallas! has surveyed thousands of commercial structures and over twenty neighborhoods.

Member 1973-76; c. 1982-88; c. 1998-2004;
Swiss Avenue/Munger Place Task Force of Landmark Commission, 1973-1976; c. 1988-2004. Design review for restoration and construction in two Historic Districts.

Preservation Tax Incentives Task Force of Landmark Commission
Chair, 1992. Chaired Commission’s first Preservation Tax Incentives Task Force that created a set of incentives for the city called the “most progressive in the
nation” by the National Trust. These have been a key factor in close to $200 million of privately financed preservation projects.

Fair Park Task Force of Dallas Landmark Commission
Chair 1990-2000; Member 1990-2019. Design review task force has reviewed over $150 million of restoration and construction in Fair Park National Historic Landmark.

Friends of Fair Park
Dallas: Founder and President, 1984-86; Public Affairs Chair, 1987-1991; Board, c.1987-1996. Oversaw initial organization such as incorporation, board recruitment and grants and the restoration of the Magnolia Lounge (William Lescaze, architect). Worked to obtain National Historic Landmark status for Fair Park. Fair Park won a National Trust for Historic Preservation 2003 Achievement Award.

Fair Park Development Board
Chair, 1987-89. Appointed by Mayor of Dallas to create development plan for 277-acre City of Dallas landmark. Included restoration cost estimates and an
economic study. Plan was used to obtain over $100 million in restoration
funds for Fair Park, including State Fair of Texas funds, City of Dallas bond monies; Federal ISTEA funds; State of Texas monies.
