East Dallas Design Committee's Physical Development Committee Chair
c. 1974-1976. Oversaw the first rezoning of Old East Dallas from multi-family to single family an effort that eventually preserved approx. 1,500 acres.

Central Business District Association, Dallas
c. 1976-1979. Board Member and Chairman West End Historic District Committee.

Lakewood Shopping Center Planning Charrette
c. 1976. Developed conceptual plan for traffic and parking that kept historic shopping center intact.

State-Thomas Neighborhood Planning Committee
c. 1986. This plan reintroduced concept of dense mid-rise residential development, with ground level retail, for vacant land adjacent to historic district.

Preservation Park Cities Advisory Board
c. 2002-2007.

Forward Dallas Comprehensive Plan
Advisory Board Member, 2005-2006.

Dallas Development Code
Amendments Committee, Advisory Committee, 2007-2008. Created a new “Form-Based” Zoning Code for the City of Dallas.

Urban Design Advisory Committee, City of Dallas
Member, 2006 to 2020.

Other Community Planning Advocacy efforts include: participating in the Bryan Place Planned Development District, c. 1988; participating in the Gaston Avenue Planned Development District, c. 1998; recruiting buyers for vacant building in Deep Ellum, c. 1985; lobbying for parking concessions for the Old Lakewood Library, c. 1974; and for citywide codes to be modified to allow continued existence of older storefronts.
